Want to Help Get The Order Published?

I have had fans tell me that my novel is good enough to be published.  I would love to see how popular it might become, so I have been asking my fans for assistance. Doing these few things to help raise awareness of my work will make my novel more attractive to possible publishers. 

1. Add my novel button to your blogs/sites.  Just snag the code in the sidebar, then add it as an HTML gadget to your blog.

2. I'd love to have more "Followers" on my novel blog.  So, if you are willing, please click the "Follow" button on the sidebar, and get everyone you know to do the same.

3. I'd love to have more fans of my novel on Facebook.  If you are willing, click here to "like" my novel page on Facebook, and then send my page to all your Facebook friends.

4. I'd love to have more hits on my novel website, and more people signing my guestbook So, if you haven't already done so, go sign my guestbook!

5. You can follow me on Twitter, if you "tweet," by clicking here.

So, let's spread the word and see if my novel can catch on like wildfire!  If so, you may see it in your local bookstore someday.

Beta-Readers

I have had a couple of beta-readers give me feedback on the prologue and first chapter of my sequel, The Others. I thought you might like to see what they had to say.

Edited Chapters Uploaded!

I actually found the time today to incorporate all of the edits my dear friend Julie made on the prologue, chapter one and chapter two of The Order, and I uploaded the polished documents to The Order Saga Website.  The basic content of these chapters has not changed, but if you would like to read a more "professional" version of this work, check out my updated files.

As always, if you still discover more mistakes, I hope you will let me know.  Many eyes make for better proof-reading.

Second Edit Done!

Okay, so I am going to keep milking the excuse that I just had a baby to pardon my tardiness in posting this, but my wonderful friend Julie finished her edits of "The Order."  Thank you so much Julie!  You are amazing.

Now, I have to confess that she finished it right before Lucas was born, so that was two months ago, and the binder with her handwritten edits is still sitting, untouched, on my desk. I need to pull up my old file of "The Order" and start fixing all the mistakes that she found.  Once that is all done, I will probably consider "The Order" finished (unless I get an agent and have it professionally edited for publication).

So, what kind of good news does this final editing translate into?  If I can ever find the time to get all my mistakes fixed, I will probably upload my manuscript to the self-publishing site that I use (Lulu) and make it available for anyone to purchase (hopefully in hardback, soft cover and/or electronic pdf for all you computer users).

So, if you have been dying to read more than just the few chapters that are available on The Order Saga website, this might be your chance to find out what only my beta test-readers know... the entire story!  Of course, posting lots of comments on this blog encouraging me to get this done might just flatter me enough to do it in a timely manner!  Just teasing...

Long Time, No See

Well, I must say, having a baby sure does make you get behind on things, like, oh, say, writing a sequel! Ha, ha.

Yes, that is right, we have another bouncing baby boy to add to our family now. I hope that is a reasonable excuse for my absence from the world of The Order Saga. But, my fans will be happy to know that I have started to resign myself to the fact that, if I am going to get any writing done at all, it has to happen during nap time. So, no more naps for me! At least not while the writing bug is fresh in my system.

So, I am happy to report that I have added another ten pages to my draft, and the Prologue and Chapter One are now complete. Yippee! I know my sister will be interested in getting a copy of the first chapter to read, but I am going to see how long it will take her to discover that it is done. (Does she actually read this blog anymore, or have I taken too long to post something?!)

With only twenty minutes left of nap time today, I have run out of writing time. But, to keep my fans going, I have posted the new player with the soundtrack for The Others at the bottom of this blog. It is a working list, so more songs might be added as I go. I also have a few songs that I dearly love for this soundtrack that are not available on Playlist.com. So, when you hear Tonight by Alex Band, Not Broken by the Goo Goo Dolls, Parachute by Ingrid Michaelson, or Your Love is a Song by Switchfoot, please think of The Others.

Update

Did everyone see that?  I just updated the status of my sequel to 24 pages.  I know, 4 whole pages!  How exciting!  :)  But at least it is a start, and now that I have reviewed all my notes and am back into the swing of writing, perhaps the next four pages will come much faster.

It other news, "The Order" is currently under its second revision and will hopefully be ready soon.  Thank you Julie for taking the time to edit it for me!
