Cookbook Done!
So, my project of working on the family cookbook is finally over, and now Scott and I are going to take a much needed vacation. Upon my return, I hope to get back to working hard on my sequel. I am very excited to get writing again.

Update- Cookbook
Well, I am sure some of you keep looking at my sidebar and reading, "Marsha is on page 20 of her sequel, "The Others," and wondering why that number doesn't change!
Well, that's because I haven't been working on my sequel for awhile now, and I just wanted to let everyone know why. My family puts together a family cookbook, and every so often we do updates. I am currently in charge of typing up the updates for our next version of the cookbook, and all my spare computer time gets eaten up by that.
The good news is, I hope to be done with the cookbook very soon, and I will get back to working hard on my sequel. Just hang in there! I haven't forgotten about it yet.

Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson
***Warning! Spoiler***
If you have only read the first two chapters off the website, you might want to skip this article.
Some of the songs were helpful for tone or mood, but this song was especially about the lyrics. If you listen to the words, picture it coming from Rachel towards Peter at the end of the story. I even use the quote, "I'm already gone" (or something similar) several times in the novel.
I hope you enjoy the insight!
Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye
Even with our fists held high
It never would have worked out right, yeah
We were never meant for do or die...
I didn't want us to burn out
I didn't come here to hurt you now I can't stop...
I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone
Looking at you makes it harder
But I know that you'll find another
That doesn't always make you wanna cry
It started with the perfect kiss then
We could feel the poison set in
"Perfect" couldn't keep this love alive
You know that I love you so
I love you enough to let you go
I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone
I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right
When you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on
So I'm already gone
Ahhhh already gone, already gone, already gone
Ahhhh already gone, already gone, already gone
Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye...
I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone
I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right
When you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on,
So I'm already gone

Amy
Who do you think Amy Wilkins looks like?
I found this pictures of an actress named Amanda Bynes, and I think she looks pretty close to what I see in my mind, just make the hair curly. She has that pleasant face with friendly round cheeks that I think Amy should have. Amanda Bynes was in the movie Syndey White (a tongue-in-cheek remake of Snow White). In the movie, her face was the perfect "Amy" but I had a hard time finding many pictures of her that looked much like she did in the movie.

Query Letter, Oh How I Love Thee...
So, my journey to write an amazing query letter to submit to potential agents has begun! And let me tell you, I find this harder and more intimidating than writing my entire novel. Don't get me wrong, I think my novel is wonderful. But it is so hard to condense 80,000 words into a 250-word summary. How do I get all of my interesting and compelling ideas down to just a few sentences? I am a wordy person, and that's part of why I wrote a novel in the first place.
So, I will write, rewrite, and write again. I am sure some of you will be asked to be test readers for me and give me pointers. Any volunteers?

New Page on Website: Mythology
Another question I get asked a lot is, "What is your novel about?" To more fully answer this question, I created the "Mythology" page on my website. I thought this little blurb about the universe I created would help give potential readers a bit more information before they dive into the first chapters. I hope you enjoy!
