Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson

***Warning! Spoiler***

If you have only read the first two chapters off the website, you might want to skip this article.

As promised, here is one of the songs from my novel playlist (see player at the bottom of the screen) and why this song was important to me during the writing process. (It's the first song on the play list.)

Some of the songs were helpful for tone or mood, but this song was especially about the lyrics. If you listen to the words, picture it coming from Rachel towards Peter at the end of the story. I even use the quote, "I'm already gone" (or something similar) several times in the novel.

I hope you enjoy the insight!

Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye
Even with our fists held high
It never would have worked out right, yeah
We were never meant for do or die...

I didn't want us to burn out
I didn't come here to hurt you now I can't stop...

I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone

Looking at you makes it harder
But I know that you'll find another
That doesn't always make you wanna cry
It started with the perfect kiss then
We could feel the poison set in
"Perfect" couldn't keep this love alive

You know that I love you so
I love you enough to let you go

I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone

I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right
When you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on
So I'm already gone

Ahhhh already gone, already gone, already gone
Ahhhh already gone, already gone, already gone

Remember all the things we wanted
Now all our memories, they're haunted
We were always meant to say goodbye...

I want you to know
It doesn't matter where we take this road
Someone's gotta go
And I want you to know
You couldn't have loved me better
But I want you to move on
So I'm already gone

I'm already gone, already gone
You can't make it feel right
When you know that it's wrong
I'm already gone, already gone
There's no moving on,
So I'm already gone

Amy

Who do you think Amy Wilkins looks like?

I found this pictures of an actress named Amanda Bynes, and I think she looks pretty close to what I see in my mind, just make the hair curly. She has that pleasant face with friendly round cheeks that I think Amy should have. Amanda Bynes was in the movie Syndey White (a tongue-in-cheek remake of Snow White). In the movie, her face was the perfect "Amy" but I had a hard time finding many pictures of her that looked much like she did in the movie.
