"The Order" is Now Available on Createspace!

In the self-publishing world, there are many sites to choose from.  I have been using Lulu.com and I have really enjoyed their user interface and the QUALITY of their product.  But, that quality comes at a cost.

I have recently discovered that Createspace (part of Amazon) also offers self-publishing at a lower cost. So, I am going to give it a spin and see what happens.  With some minor formatting changes, a new cover and a new ISBN, The Order is now available in paperback on Createspace for only $8.77! Click on the link below to order your copy!

https://www.createspace.com/3877997

One drawback for Createspace is that they do not offer a hardback option.  So, if you want a hard cover copy, you will need to visit my Lulu.com store.

One plus for Createspace is that my book will now be available to purchase on Amazon.com (in 5-7 business days, so keep checking back!). My hope is to see if that brings in more readers and fans than listing on Lulu alone.

So, time will tell.  But right now, you can find my novel in both locations, and hopefully soon on Amazon.com, IBookstore, and Barnes and Noble Nook Stores (all these options are currently in the "pending approval" stage).

Self-Published

As many of you may know, I have battled back and forth with self-publishing my novel, or going the long and hard route of trying to get it professionally published.  With the stage of life I am in right now, I realistically have to settle with self-publishing (for now, anyway).  So, I wanted to get my links out there for anyone who wants to buy a copy of my book!

The Order by Marsha Megan Stokes is now available for purchase on Lulu.com!

Hardcover $22.94

Paperback $13.44

Ebook $1.99

Want to Help Get The Order Published?

I have had fans tell me that my novel is good enough to be published.  I would love to see how popular it might become, so I have been asking my fans for assistance. Doing these few things to help raise awareness of my work will make my novel more attractive to possible publishers.

1. Add my novel button to your blogs/sites.  Just snag the code in the sidebar, then add it as an HTML gadget to your blog.

2. I'd love to have more "Followers" on my novel blog.  So, if you are willing, please click the "Follow" button on the sidebar, and get everyone you know to do the same.

3. I'd love to have more fans of my novel on Facebook.  If you are willing, click here to "like" my novel page on Facebook, and then send my page to all your Facebook friends.

4. I'd love to have more hits on my novel website, and more people signing my guestbook So, if you haven't already done so, go sign my guestbook!

5. You can follow me on Twitter, if you "tweet," by clicking here.

So, let's spread the word and see if my novel can catch on like wildfire!  If so, you may see it in your local bookstore someday.

Will The Order get Published?

Probably the most frequently asked question when someone new finds out that I wrote a novel is, "Will you try to get it published?" What a question!!

Well, here is the process right now. I just had a good friend and writer edit my novel for the first time (if you don't count the hundreds of times I tried to edit my novel myself, along with help from my husband, sister, and other readers). Thanks again Emily!

Now, I have one other friend that I know about who is a college essay mentor- Julie. She has agreed to read my novel as an editor as well. However, she is currently busy with personal things and won't have time until April to get started. The good news there is that I will have some time to dive back into my sequel! I haven't really been writing for several months now because I have been focused on editing The Order, so I am just itching to get back to work.

After that? Who knows. Julie also knows a published author and suggested that perhaps this author would take a look at my novel and tell me if the thought it was publishable. If she really enjoys it, maybe she would even show it to her agent. Wouldn't that be exciting!

So, things are on hold for the moment until Julie can take a look at it and help me edit again. Then, I might start writing a query letter and see about finding an agent. That entire process is so overwhelming to think about!! Maybe with enough encouragement from my adoring fans, I will be convinced to share my story with the world! In the mean time, I will see about making a webpage where I can post a few chapters of my novel so the rest of you can take a look.
